One of the most common Confederate canteens: a refurbisued and reissued U.S. Army canteen. A number of guys have requested an appropriate strap for them, so here you go. There are numerous images and surviving examples of simple scrap leather straps specifically made for captured U.S. canteens, with a portion of the strap split to cradle the canteen body. Most, being made of the cut off ends of straps used to make saddle parts and belts, are pieced together from multiple pieces of leather, and close via a simple metal stud rather than a buckle. There are made just like the originals.
